Duff McKagan

Concert Reviews

May 30, 2019 – Theatre of The Living Arts, Philadelphia PA

Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and singer/songwriter and Grammy Award-winning producer Shooter Jennings have teamed up together, promoting McKagan’s upcoming solo album Tenderness. Jennings is the producer for this album and is also the opening band. He will serve as McKagan’s back band during this tour. The tour kicked off tonight and I was lucky enough to be able to capture it in this very intimate venue.

If you came to hear some good old rock n’ roll, Guns N’ Roses badass, tattooed guitar playing, you are in the wrong place. McKagan was relaxed with his acoustic guitar sounding very much country and he looked the part as well with his black “cowboy” boots and black vest.

The venue was dark and somber coinciding with the mood of McKagan’s album – tackling heavy subject matters including mental health, suicide, sexual assault, opioid abuse & school shootings. Maybe not your typical “feel good” night out, but fans left the show feeling McKagan’s hope for our future during the turbulent times we’re living in.

It was a memorable night…beautifully done Duff Mckagan!

Shooter Jennings (vocals/keys), Aubrey Richmond (fiddle and vocals), John Schreffler (guitar), Jamie Douglass (drums)

Slash/Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators

Concert Reviews

October 1, 2018 – The Wellmont Theatre, Montclair NJ

“Living The Dream Tour” – Slash and the boys got down to business right from the start opening with Avalon from the World On Fire album and they were loud and energetic, just the way I like my rock n’ roll.

Kennedy who also fronts Alter Bridge never disappoints with his truly remarkable vocal style and ability. Mid-set, Kennedy disappeared for a breather while Todd “Dammit” Kerns further showed off his own range on “We’re Gonna Die” and “Doctor Alibi.” In previous tours, the set list was filled with quite a few Guns ‘N Roses tunes but Slash was definitely giving those a rest during this tour and fans did not seem to mind in the least.

The band delivered 2 hours of the best rock n’ roll I have heard in quite a while. I was mesmerized by Slash and could not take my eyes off of him and his guitar shredding abilities. It was nothing less than perfection!

Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Slash (guitar), Todd Kerns (bass), Frank Sidoris (rhythm guitar) and Brent Fitz (drums).
